AI Software Engineer
To expand our software engineering team, we are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious and outstanding Software Engineer with focus on Artificial Intelligence and application development, who will work on the development of new and existing software for image guided cardiac therapies. Our software is used for patient-specific planning and guidance of cardiac therapies to increase the therapeutic effect and improve the lives of heart failure patients.
Your responsibilities:
- Own and manage all the phases of the software development lifecycle
- Participate in design, implementation and maintenance of medical imaging software
- Lead and supervise outsourced software development projects
- Design, train deep learning networks to automate processing steps and incorporate the results in the CART-Tech’s products
- Design, build and maintain API(s) for standard integration between applications and third-party services
- Collaborate effectively with management, team members, product owners and technical partners
- Writing user and system documentation
- Code reviews
Your skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in computer science, data science, medical physics, biomedical engineer or a related discipline
- Intermediate-level software engineer with 1-2 years of experience
- Experience with, C/C++, Python in the area of medical image analysis and machine learning/deep learning
- Experience with object-oriented programming
- Strong analytic skills and a passion for solving complex programming problems
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Experience with medical imaging (X-Ray, CT, MRI) and image post processing
- Experience with implementing web-based solutions, cloud computing
- Experience with integrations with third-party solutions (hospital IT systems)
- Experience with ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 standards for medical device and medical software development and lifecycle management
- Affinity with 3D rendering and visualization pipelines
- Affinity with new developments in artificial intelligence

About CART-Tech
CART-Tech is a spin-off of UMC Utrecht and operates in the area of medical devices, medical image processing and AI software development for image guided interventions in cardiology. see: www.cart-tech.com. Our product, CARTBox, is the first CE certified solution to guide interventions in the heart based on post processed diagnostic imaging. Currently we are expanding the clinical use in several hospitals in the Netherlands and abroad. Simultaneously we need to further optimize our algorithms and implement cloud functionality. Therefore, we need to expand our development team. You will work in a small multidisciplinary team (ultimately 6-8 staff) in our office at the Utrecht Science Park.
